Billing and Refunds

Last updated August 27, 2026

How subscriptions are charged, how to cancel, and when you can get money back. Payments are handled by Polar as merchant of record.

The short version. The free plan is the trial — take as long as you like on it. Once you pay for a period, that period is yours and isn't generally refundable. Cancel any time and you keep your plan until it runs out. After the paid period ends you get 30 days before extras, files, and looks above the new plan are rolled back. We always fix billing mistakes.

1. Who takes the payment

Subscriptions are sold through Polar, who act as merchant of record. Polar processes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and issues your receipt. Their name may appear on your statement. We never see or store your card details.

Polar's own terms apply to the transaction itself. This policy describes what we commit to on top of that — and where the two differ in your favour, ours applies.

2. Plans and charges

inbl.link has a free tier that stays free, and paid plans billed monthly or annually. The price and currency are shown at checkout before you confirm. Annual plans are charged once up front for twelve months.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, until you cancel. Applicable taxes are calculated by Polar based on your location and shown before you pay.

3. Cancelling

Cancel from your billing settings at any time. There's no cancellation fee and no notice period.

You keep your paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't cut you off on the day you cancel. After that date the account drops to the free tier.

Changed your mind? You can undo a cancellation before the period ends and the subscription just carries on.

Deleting your account is not cancelling. Delete takes your pages offline immediately and ends the Polar subscription immediately. Unused prepaid time is not refunded, and a new account cannot reuse that subscription. If you want to keep using the period you already paid for, cancel from billing settings instead of deleting.

4. Refunds

The general rule

Paid periods are not refundable. We don't run a free trial because we don't need to — the free plan is permanent, and it exists so you can build a page, publish gates, and decide whether the paid features are worth it before spending anything. By the time you subscribe, you've already seen what you're buying.

You can cancel at any moment and you keep everything you paid for until the period ends. So the most a mistake can cost you is one month.

When we'll always refund you

These aren't discretionary. If any of these happen, email us and we'll put it right.

  • You were charged twice for the same period.
  • You were charged after cancelling.
  • A feature you specifically subscribed for was removed, or was broken for a meaningful stretch of your billing period.
  • We terminate your account for a reason that isn't your fault — we refund the period you're in.

Everything else

Anything outside that list is case by case. Email us and explain what happened — an accidental annual renewal you haven't touched is a very different situation from changing your mind in week three, and we'll treat them differently. But the default answer for "I subscribed and then didn't use it" is no.

EU and UK statutory withdrawal

If you're a consumer in the EU or UK you have a legal right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, and we won't pretend otherwise. Your subscription starts working the moment you pay, so where you've already had the benefit of it, the amount returned is reduced in proportion to what you received. Polar is the merchant of record for your purchase and handles the refund itself — raise it with them or with us and we'll make sure it's honoured.

Any other consumer right that applies where you live, including under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, sits on top of this policy and isn't limited by it.

5. Changing plans

Upgrading takes effect immediately, and you're charged the difference pro-rated for the rest of your period.

Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current period, so you keep what you paid for. New saves already follow the lower plan. Existing public look, extra pages, and files stay as they are for 30 days after the paid period actually ends (not the day you click cancel). If you're over the new storage allowance you won't be able to upload anything else until you're back under it.

If you end up over your allowance — by downgrading, by cancelling, or because a payment never went through — nothing is deleted straight away. You get 30 days to bring yourself under the limit or start paying again, and we'll warn you in your dashboard before anything is removed. After that, files above the allowance may be permanently deleted to free the space, and we can't get them back for you. Keep your own copies of anything you care about.

Anything that fits inside your allowance is never touched. Your primary page, links, gates, and audience list stay put. Extra pages above the new plan's cap, looks the new plan does not include, and files above the allowance may be removed after those 30 days.

Monthly to annual takes effect immediately. You're charged for the year and the unused part of the month you've already paid for is credited against it.

Annual to monthly isn't something we offer part-way through a year. Cancel before your renewal date and resubscribe monthly after it, and you keep everything you paid for in the meantime.

6. Failed payments

If a renewal fails, we keep your paid features on while the payment is retried, and Polar emails you about it. If it still hasn't gone through after the retry window, the account drops to the free tier. Updating your card restores the plan. If it stays unpaid and you're over the free allowance, the storage rules in section 5 apply.

7. Price changes

We may change prices. If a change affects an existing subscription, we'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before it applies to your renewal, and you can cancel before then. Price changes never apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

8. Chargebacks

If something's gone wrong, email us first — it's faster than a chargeback and we'll almost always just fix it. Accounts with an unresolved chargeback may be suspended until it's settled.

9. Requesting a refund

Email [email protected] with "Refund request" in the subject, from the address on your account, and tell us roughly what happened. We'll reply within 5 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and usually land within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
